Mama's chicken

really good chicken burger, but also other dishes, great tofu burger (2 big slices!), and good soups for the day you get Tonsai Tummy (from different restaurant obviously). Ate here every day at the end of our stay because it was tasty.

The most incredible Thai food we’ve ever eaten! We’ve been on Tonsai Beach for the last 2 days and eaten here both days, leaving with extremely full belly’s! Absolutely loved the spicy vermicelli, pad Thai and the fruit smoothies. We are here for a few more nights and will definitely continue to eat at Mamas chicken! Best food on Tonsai. Thank you!

DONT look any further than this place We ordered the deep fried chicken and it was perhaps the best my partner and I have ever eaten…. We also ordered the Massaman Curry with chicken and rice and it was so delicious. We couldn’t believe there are hardly any people in the back stretch of shops where this restaurant is, and then we read online that 8 years ago a huge hotel franchise built this wall and forced everyone to move back which is insane. If you come to Tonsai Beach, definitely pay this place a visit. We’ll be back!Edit: we can back the next day and grabbed a chicken burger and chips to eat on the beach it was amazing 10/10 (see pics)

Food is super tasty and affordable. I recommend the chicken burger. Nice portions for a great price. The shakes are also really good.

BBQ chicken was delicious. Fresh off the grill, juicy and tender. I much prefer their bbq chicken over their fried chicken sandwich, although it was good too. Thanks for having us!

It is worth the short walk into the village for this. The resort and cafes along the way have all closed due to covid. They are the only surviving one in this village. I ordered the chicken burger that many talked about. It is 2 thin breaded patties in a burger with a light crisp. It is chicken breast meat but super tender and juicy. They have different sauces and mayo to go with the burger too! Definitely one of the best chicken burgers I have had. Did a time lapse video of the making.Their papaya salad is also really good. Somehow all the ingredients are soft and absorbed the sauce really well. Very flavourful in each bite.Ordered their banana shake too. Good balance of milk and fruit. Different those that I have tried.They also have small takeaway packs like fried chicken sticky rice, banana sticky rice etc that climbers come and buy as take away for the day.I saw a 70 year old Caucasian lady with 2 walking sticks to support herself walked in for breakfast. She must be living here for a long while and this is a regular routine.

We loved our lunch here! It's an unassuming shop towards the back of the village. The chicken burger is definitely worth trying. The Thai dishes were a massive portion size and very flavourful. Reasonable prices.

Absolutely amazing place, planned to come here while we was at Railay and very glad we did! Amazing chicken burgers, lovely family running the business, and very cheap! Must visit; hire a longtail boat from a Railay and they’ll take you to the beach, head up the hill and you’ll find the chicken !
